May 22. 78/ 8° 50' a.m Bits of sand-paper & bits of Bristle, thick from Hair-Brush affixed to radicles, several of them crooked already, as recorded object always affixed so as to counter act the preexisting curvature

(1) curved to right at 35°? & Sachs to Sachs. Bristle in opposition to above curvature 4°. 45 P.m curved from Bristle no effect —(23d. 8° 15 a.m no effect    Y

I do not think cases worth giv

(or I might give 2 or 3 of them)

/not used

(2) curved to right & little opposed to Sachs bit square of Sand-paper  in opposition 4° 45 curved at about 45 from perpendicular & from Card, the former curvature to right obliterated & no longer curved in opposition to Sachs (23d 8° 15 little effect now apparent)

(3) straight)—  Bristle on back (4° 45 no effect) (23 '8° 15 no effect)

(4) (Straight) Bristle on right side (4.° 45', perhaps very slightly curved from Bristle 23d 8° 15 do no effect

(5) (straight) Bristle on right side (4° 45, possibly a trace of curvature (23' 8° 15' no effect)

(7) curved at 45° to left & not at all to Sachs'

Used.

Card in opposition (4° 45, basal part still so sloped, but tip bent at 45° from card & perpendicular — (23d 8° 15. terminal portion quite straight

(8) Curved to Sachs & to left somewhat, card in opposition (4°. 45 Pm basal part same curvature, but tip straight which shows that card has probably acted.— (Used) (23d 8° 15'. terminal portion now bent at 45' from perpendicular & from card.

Temp of Study 64°— The 3 with square of sand paper to be added to numbered experiments

Used

(I certainly think that when Bean germinate at Temp betw 55° & 60° Sachs' curvature not so well pronounced as I have seen it at higher temps & as appeared to have occurred with Sachs,.)

Summary Bristle
