Radicles with sqr. of sand paper shell-lacced to tip.— Of differnt lengths, mostly short, all pointng perpendicularly down pinned to cork lids of jars— radicles grw very slowly

(1) Oct 19' 10° a.m. (21' 11° 10' not bent; knocked off sq accidentally, renewed it.

Oct 22 9° a.m. slightly inclined from card, rather long radicle.) (23d 8° a.m straight ); put on fresh square) (24th. 8° refixed sqr) sq. knocked off 25' 8° a.m refixed.— (27' 8° straight sqr washed off, has grown to unusal length & quit straight.) Oct 29th. 8° a.m. This very curious case has kept straight all this time, & now radicle is 3.2 inchs long & perfecly straight, except tip which is bent into complete Hook from square ✔

(2) Oct 19' 10° a.m. (20th curved from square.) (21' 11° bent at almost right angle to sq.) (22d 9° a.m. do) (23 8° am do) (—25th 8° now grwg straighter) (26' 8° much straghter). ✔

Wonderfully slow the radicles grw & consequently curve.

Jar on Chinmey Piece Temp., abo 66° Oct 25th 2° 45' P.m Square fixed— sand-paper on one side of tip & the thin paper on other side.—

(1) 26' 4° 45' perhps very slightly curved from thick sqr (28th. 8° very doubtful case ＼

(2) 26' 8° Hooked but Hooks at right angels to 2 square—  ?  O

(3) 26th .4° 45. nearly at right angles from thick sq ✔

(4). 26th 4°. 45 plainly curved from thick sqr (28th. 8° 60°  from the perpendicular ✔
