Radicles with sqr. of sand paper shell-lacced to tip.— Of differnt lengths, mostly short, all pointng perpendicularly down pinned to cork lids of jars— radicles grw very slowly

(1) Oct 19' 10º a.m. (21' 11º 10' not bent; knocked off sq accidentally, renewed it.

Oct 22 9º a.m. slightly inclined from card, rather long radicle.) (23d 8º a.m straight ); put on fresh square) (24th. 8º refixed sqr) sq. knocked off 25' 8º a.m refixed.— (27' 8º straight sqr washed off, has grown to unusal length & quit straight.) Oct 29th. 8º a.m. This very curious case has kept straight all this time, & now radicle is 3.2 inchs long & perfecly straight, except tip which is bent into complete Hook from square ✔

(2) Oct 19' 10º a.m. (20th curved from square.) (21' 11º bent at almost right angle to sq.) (22d 9º a.m. do) (23 8º am do) (—25th 8º now grwg straighter) (26' 8º much straghter). ✔

Wonderfully slow the radicles grw & consequently curve.

Jar on Chinmey Piece Temp., abo 66º Oct 25th 2º 45' P.m Square fixed— sand-paper on one side of tip & the thin paper on other side.—

(1) 26' 4º 45' perhps very slightly curved from thick sqr (28th. 8º very doubtful case ＼

(2) 26' 8º Hooked but Hooks at right angels to 2 square—  ?  O

(3) 26th .4º 45. nearly at right angles from thick sq ✔

(4). 26th 4º. 45 plainly curved from thick sqr (28th. 8º 60º  from the perpendicular ✔
