Secondary Roots    jar B C. on sand-bath

Aug 3d. 8° 50' a.m sqr fixed on 13 secondary roots— all straight, some vertically down, most inclined— (The weight of sqr. on the inclined radicle wd pull them more vertically down.) (5°. P.m no effect on any of the Secondary Radicles.)

Aug 4 8° a.m, no clear effect, doubtful in 2 or 3 cases but I examined several of the rootlets & there tips were so thin & pointed they had become coated all round with shell-lac.
