Radicle of Bean. April 16th

Bean embedded in damp sand in one edge with radicles just protruding vertically down for they had been suspended by big pins. They were so embedded that geotropism & Sachs' curvature wd both aid them in bending into Hole.

(1) Depth of Hole .2 .12° 30 tip almost in Hole 4° 30' well in Hole

(Beans themselves themselves lifted up, with radicles much bowed & not one escaped out of Holes— This worth recording)

(2) Depth of Hole .15 12° 30' tip almost in Hole 4° 30' well in Hole

(3) depth of Hole 4° 30' well in Hole

(4). Depth of Hole. (.12) 4. 30' well in Hole
