Notes for Movement in plants. Text F1325. Acanthus mollis, Bear's Breeches or Sea Holly is a small flowering plant native to the Mediterranean region. Its large lobbed leaves are represented in the capitals of columns of the Corinthian order.

Jun 8th 1878 Acanthus mollis

The seedlings which had second leaf in so small a condition have been left, & now after many weeks (for it was first one observed) the second leaf has appeared fully above ground.— Perhaps old M.S will show when it was dug up out of sand & planted in pot.—
