Dec 2

Bassoon— Oxalis sensitiva

Two seedlings plants a big one P & a smaller on p in hot case under a small bell glass—

Played low Bb & also ran up & down the scale & both P & p shut up slightly

Dec 3. 9 12 am Opened the case & removed the bell P has one cotyledon below Horizon, one horizontal.

p has both cotyledons below— On returning at 9.26 no change is visible to the eye

10.5 am The cotyledons of P form a straight line [sketch] which makes 5° below Horizon

p has Rt Left cotyledon 20 30 below Rt 20 below

10.8 Began to play high D# [illeg] & went on with pauses for breath for 1 3/4'

10. 6 P has closed a little; 1018 the Rt Left cotyl has risen 25° ie to 30 above the horizon, the left cotyl has sunk risen 5° ie is horizontal But it is impossible to read the angle very accurately & it is possible the left cotyl has remained unaltered especially as the hypocotyl nutating may altered the angle made by the cotyledons — with horizon

10.21. (p) has both cots 10 below; that is Left risen 20°, right 10°

10. 31 (P). the Left 40° above, Rt horizontal, that is left risen 35° in all, Rt risen 5° in all,

Bassoon

10.31 (p) both cots 5° below; therefore Left has in all has risen 25°, Rt 15°.

10.56. (P-) Left 30° above Rt horizontal; that is the cots have begun to separate again

10.56 — (p) Left 20 above, rt 15 above Bell left off & left open

12.13. (P) is paratonically horizontal, left cot being a few degrees below the horizontal,

(p) Ditto but Rt a few above horizontal Bell left off & left open

12.17 to 12 18 low Bb [sketch]; (& for abt 1/4' more at after a few seconds pause)

12.27 (P) Left 5 above, Rt 5 Below That is P had not shut up from bassoon

(p). Left. 10 above Rt horizon That is left had risen 10° or a few less—

12.51. P— cotyls in a straight line 20° below horizon [sketch]

(p). Both 8° above,

Bassoon

12.52 pm played height D for 1 1/2 minutes

1.° 6' pm —(P) Cots still in a straight line 35° below horizon— [sketch] — I suppose owing to nutation of hypocotyl — No effect from bassoon

(p) — Left horizontal— Rt 8 12° above No effect from bassoon

1.36 Bell glass put on

2.50 Bell glass off.

(P)— Cots in a straight line [sketch] 20 below horizon

(p)— Left. 10° below Rt horizontal

2°. 51' played high D# for 1'

2° 53' (P—) Left —40 above, Rt horizontal, that is they have both risen 20°

2. 56' (p) Left —horizontal Rt 10 above that is both have risen 10°

3. 8 P. Left 40° above

3° 2'. (p) Left 5 above. Rt 20 above; that is in all left has risen 15°, Rt 20°

3. 8 (P). left 30 above Rt 15° above; or on all left risen 10°, Rt 35°

3° 50' P— lea Left 8 above Rt 3 above p— left horizon, Rt 5° above} That is neither are asleep
