Leading shoot only .5 inch high— Pinched 4. Lateral shoots only about 5-10 above above Horizon. — 3 pinched & 1 left unpinched — Length 1.25.— All measure to old wood.— Shoots tenderer with terminal scale-like-caps still at end.

1 tree Upper end — leader 1/2 inch high pinched — 1 lateral cut off & 2 laterals pinched.— This is tree with one lateral highly inclined from last autumns experiments— now pinched young leader & 2 laterals,— leaving a third lateral
2nd tree — leader about .3 high pinched — 1 lateral pinch cut off— 2 laterals pinched with wire — one left
