Feb. 4th 1879 Desmodium gyrans

Cotyledon rise 4° or 5° & do not sleep — Split one through middle.

There is no defined pulvinus— but whole petiole seem formed of smaller cells than those of Hypocotyl or Blade.—

If this be So this must be considered, I suppose, as not fully developed pulvinus, which does not as yet act.—

Perhaps add in Ch 2 to number of genera & Erodium
