March 26th 9° 47' a.m touched one side of tip of radicle dried, thrice with dry caustic.— Root will probably become more geotropic, not if acted on will bend laterally.— Too much blackened whole tip Killed─ no lateral bending. Nevertheless the petioles which were inclined under seed have now 9° 30' P.m become vertically geotropic—

Reversed seed so petioles now point to zenith

— 27th. 7° 30' a.m tip considerably bowed geotropically.

March 25th 7° 47 a.m. (Big-pin.) touched with caustic so as to bend radicle in plane at right angle to that including the 2 petioles.
