Drosophyllum Lusitanicum

Augt 1. 1878

Cots. hypogean. (is this known see Decaisne)— first true leaves with glands & involuted outwards. [sketch] I suspect thus break through ground.

The summit of Epicotyl is certainly bent. & I believe I may now say every Hypocot or Epicotyl of plants observed by me breaks through ground bowed.
