Jun 2d 1879. Ipomœa purpurea — Cotyledons at 10°. 15' P.m some 30° & some 40° below horizon; & at noon they were horizontal

Cots of Pharbitis nil = Ip. cærulea were less declined 25° & 30° & some hardy at all. —

3d 8° a.m. the Cots of I. purpurea still declined, (I had better say only that they do not fall nearly enough to be called sleep.)
