June 12' 1879 Lotus Jacobaeus.
Believed to be new seeds ie last year— now middle of summer— Cotyledons at pin 1 1/2 mm wide
3. marked with white pins first expanded today or perhaps yesterday— At 10º P.m no trace of sleep.—
13th 10º P.m a little raised. —
(14th 10º 30' P.m, one with Cots considerably raised— less than right angles— the 2 other not raised
15th 10º P.m. one white almost Vertical —
(16th do, other 2 considerably raised—
(17th. 10' P.m 2 white pot little closed— one well closed—
18th do
20th do do do
Not Worth using, but I have said that period of rising extremely variable
Jun 14th 8º a.m. 3 new seedling— Black Pins Cots. Horizontal
14' 10º 30' P.m, one with cots considerably raised less than right angles the other two not so.
15th 10º P.m— Two of Blacks almost vertical
16' 10º P.m All 3 Blacks much raised, but 2 most so
17th. 10' — do do do do
18th do— do do
20th do. do do
There certainly is some variability in the closure of the cotyledons
Many not difference be difference in illumination during different seasons — together with some variability.
