[38]

A infantile child (C.W). 2 years & a quarter old. told her mother to play better, she not playing so well as her sister Eliza. & perhaps Eliza playing at all other times. This shows how soon a taste for music developed. —

Cathrine, my sister's, started at all sudden sounds, especially when awaking where she was a fortnight or perhaps even less old. — Does not wink, so that C. is always afraid of the maidservant hurting her eyes with her sleeve: sees very little: She Frowns very much, now she is a month old. —

[38v]

C. thinks the Baby twitches her face after sucking is very different from a smile, thinks it did really smile, when about three weeks old. —

the cry of impatience is now very different from that of pain. —

The baby when only about fortnight seemed aware of the possibility of falling from C's knee & showed fear. —

This is very uncommon. —
