The stones of foundation have worm mould between
Floors even in to whole
Some mortar, but in great part same
Flint chalk lines line
Rooms of different level
Field slopes gently to S – 2 floors seems to slope in same way
On side of wall exposed (under floor 1 ft) flints of worms holes & some castings
Worms on Sunday [illeg] to be swept away
Ploughed for 30 years
B[illeg] & wine prep room-
Uneven but 20 tun of stone taken off
After rubbish was taken away worms kept coming thro pavement
Tunnels of worms found in clearing away rubbish
Sinks to S
From level of ground to floor about 2 ft 3 from top of walls to floor [blank] ft-
These from level to top wall about 1 ft. 3 - - pure mould to interior 4 or 5 inches of top of wall then rubble but in some cases may about 4 to 5 inches of mould on top of walls
Foundations on sand so hard red send that it required kicking
No worms seen – base of foundation about 2 ft 6 below floor
