Dear Sir

At a meeting of the 'Sedgwick Club' on Saturday April 22nd, the following motion having been unanimously agreed upon I was directed to forward a copy to you.

"This Society desires to express its sympathy with the family of the late Dr. Darwin in their affliction, and also to record its sense of severe and irreparable loss which the whole scientific world has sustained by his death."
