I quite agree in the propriety of asking Wallace – It was very stupid of me not to think of it. Spencer had occurred to me but I doubt if he could be got to take part in a religious ceremony – for any consideration

I am very glad to hear everything is settled.

Will you let me have a couple of tickets, one for each of my boys in addition to that for my wife– if it is not inconvenient

Leonard was your father's godson; & in any case I should like the boys to carry all their lives the remembrance of him

I am afraid that Hooker is not at all well – I have had a letter from Lady Hooker begging me to write for Nature so I will do
