Lest my telegraphic message yesterday should not be clear, I write to ask you to be so good, as to leave information for the Duke of Devonshire at Devonshire House, as to any details which it would be desirable for him to know.

I am sure he will make every effort to pay the last respect to your illustrious

father. I am glad his resting place is to be so near that of Newton, whom he so much resembled in greatness and in humility.

It is a great grief to me, and to many members of the Council that I cannot be present tomorrow at Westminster
