Section in a north & south line across the valley of S. Cruz.

N.B. The numbers given the height height of each plain in feet above the surface of the River, of each plain is given by the number directly under it.

Vertical scale 1/20 of inch to 100 ft. Terrace E is necessarily raised above its proper level of 20 ft. — Horizontal scale much contracted; distance from A north to A S. being on an average miles

Instruction for Engraver.  No more lettering to be introduced, the necessary for strength of middle of block, viz I suppose EE & Ds Dn; perhaps also Cs and Cn. — Other parts cut close for type.

Basal line strong; other lines fine.
