(a) Humboldt states (superposition &c p. 222) that on the road from Acapulco to Mexico, porphyries & coarse grained granites dip to the NW & the latter sometimes to SE.1
Does it hence appear probable that the two prevalent systems of the Americas intersect each other in Mexico? —
(b) Note
It is stated, in Cleveland's Geology of the United States, that the primitive formations are generally inclined to the SE at a greater angle than 45°. —
