Ferruginous veins of this figure (A) in sandstone: evidently depend on a concretionary contraction: the fact is in alliance with those balls at Chiloe full of sand. — the quantity of iron being there in excess. - If veins (A) are secretionary, so are all those plates in Australia, New Red Sandstone, at Bahia in modern sandstone a circle, (A) had in its middle a short vein terminated each way, which little vein was like the rest of these thin veins which project outwards.
