April 28/66/ Gould told me that Red Grouse & T. Saliceti agree in eggs, Habits &c. & in plumage till 3 weeks old, when the main wing-feathers become bordered with white, which never occurs at any time with Red Grouse.—

He showed me young of a Norwegian grouse, which lives much in trees which can fly within 24 hours after being hatched!!—
