Reading over Downing & seeing such characters (insists on these facts in Ch. I.
as Cling-stones & Free Stones variable in certain vars. I am inclined to believe my view of origins may be true.— Close species being not polymorphic shows according to my theory that variability must supervene & perhaps cease.
