I must here discuss briefly antiquity of vars. (allude to ancient domestic vars), we see it in weak degree in persistence in wild vars, in our gardens, even under changed conditions — Anagallis, Bernhardia or Veronica &c &c — We see it in Wollastons P. Santo shells, best of all.— We may infer it, in vars of N. America & in almost any isld off a Continent.—
