Lyell tells me that Wollaston now thinks that some Heteromerous insect in P. Santo & Dezertas is a species & not a var. because it is the same in P. Santo & Dezertas, which shows that he thinks that the same forms wd not be found in both —

It looks as if local vars. & such cases of Juncus Bufonius different.—
