Flora Dalmatica — Visiani. vol 2. p. 58 makes 3 vars of Bellis perennis — differing in size, hairiness, shape of leaves & caulescence — inhabit different stations — These vars. have been called species by various authors.— (now I think Daisy does not vary with us).— (Ch. 4)

[Natural selection, p. 169: "Rob. de Visiani: Flora Dalmatica 1842‐1852. I have excluded the cultivated plants. In counting the number of varieties to each species, I have not counted those marked (a). Visiani seems to have carefully distinguished varieties from variations."]
