Dr Carpenter in Phil. Transact has shown what truly extraordinary amount of variation the Foraminifera are subject to.— Many species & even several genera, being specifically the same, as has been shown by gradations & diverse forms occurring in different parts of same individual. —
It is remarkable that the same vary very often occur exclusively or very frequently in certain localities
