Pallas' Travels 2/427. Describes the ravages in 1799 of gryllus italicus in the Crimea and remarks that other species were also abundant this same year; also, the large erratic locust, together with a small one, it is remarkable, spread during the same year, over New Russia, & a part of Little Russia, but did not enter the Crimea. (Case analogous to that of Weissenborn's dragon-flies.)

What is favourable to one species is favourable to another.
