Ch 5

March 7/57/ Falconer agreed not destroyed by any beast of prey doubts famines; attributes it to the very unhealthy seasons in the Terei which they inhabit, aided by astonishing increase of Flies, which cover even thick skin of camel with bumps & harass all animals — The malaria kills all animals even the Fowls.— But check disease probably in different countries as with domestic animals — For some other cause in Ceylon; & perhaps drought in E. Africa.
