36 var of imported summer or ten-week Stocks: in each packet the seeds vary in size considerably & but have same aspect in each packet. Colour differs from yellowish brown to greenish black — size on average differs a little, but in those with smallest, there were some nearly if not quite as large as the largest in other packets with larger average seeds.— Certainly more difference than I anticipated.— These 36 are only sub. vars. of one of the vars. of 10 week stocks, as may be seen in Cattells list.— See Back.

6 vars of "Tall stock-flowered Larkspur" imported from Germany seeds, all alike even those of the white var.— The vars. pale Lilac; violet, dark Lilac. white, Lilac. violet shaded.

8. vars of "Hyacinth flowered Larkspur" imported from Germany seeds like the last: even the white var. with dark black seeds; but some of the vars. have browner seeds; & the two last in following list, specially last, have decidedly smaller & much lighter coloured seeds: but I almost suspect, the last are bad.— Copper Red, Milk White (these 2 blackest seeds); Reddish=White; Pale Blue; Ask Grey; Dark Blue; Lilac; Flesh Colour.
