Gooseberries

April 14th 1857

Examined 54 flowers of different Gooseberries very little difference in size or appearance of flowers — calyx a shade differently coloured.— goose either nothing base of calyx either smooth, wooly or curved with glands; a shade of difference in size of petals of corolla

The yellow Rough is remarkable for darker smaller foliage & rather later flowers, very rough.—

The Sportsman was just as before 1/2 monstrous with various coloured bracteæ.— Now see if Gooseberries differ more in size & shape.— especially sportsman.—
