For me:

Plums, Cherries Peaches, Apricots; (& even yes p. 84 Lindley grain of corn) all come in one class

Pea, Pod, Kidney Pods Bean Pods  same I fancy (p 84 Lindley) [illeg] seed of strawberry, answers to whole plum or drupe. The fruit is enlarged torus or vegetable

The pod of cabbage answers to same but formed of several more than one carpella or leaves, so in nut, gooseberry, orange grape, cowcumber Raspberry, apples, Pears, quince Cratœgus seem to be floral Envelopes

which is pulp of strawberry & Raspberry

Lindley Introduction

Compositæ are seeds are avenium, ∴  lettuce seeds are therefore are not comparable to cabbage; but are comparable to grains of corn & Plums

[insertion:] The calyx adhere & form pappus.

Does not foliage of Plums differ as much as Lettuces?

In gooseberry calyx adhere to pericarp.─

The seeds of Umbelliferæ are fruit. or pericarps

Especially compare Strawberry avenium ─ Nuts. Gooseberries
