Nov. 16/ 57/ in Humming Birds Cephalepis Cephalepis Lalandii (there is a 2d species) The beautiful crest has strange anomaly of terminating single [illeg] feather Gould has examined thousands, that at last has had one from Rio, which I saw, sent him with 2 equal feathers, which thus by (retrograde) variation approaches to normal structure of other Humming & indeed all other crested Birds.
