I presume, from my theory, as long as any structure can be handed down without being absolutely injurious or requiring nutrition to a certain amount it will be so handed down (.. as mammæ of men callosities on Camels & Horses—) & therefore probably any structure would rather become accommodated to new circumstances than it would be eliminated, & hence, the application of structure to purpose after purpose would tend to render complex the series.—
