Feb. 20. 1861. Took Hive, which was a swarm last summer & therefore must have made its comb in 1860 & I find much of comb stained here & there with vermilion wax. Now I used this in year & subsequently sent, I think next year the refuse out of study & this must have been found by Bees on ground & used.
