Aug 15 / 69 Lilium lancifolium is a Dichogam. When fl. first open immediately extends anther ready & pistil straight & then the stigma dry - afterwards, when pollen mostly shed, pistil moves upwards & stigma quite wet - The bending of pistil necessary for sun-bird or some gigantic sphinx to fertilise flowers - Nectar copious in all the central folds in all 6 petals.
