My Father formerly planted two Palmated and English, planted within few yards of each other actually produced a hybrid, - my father remembering when in the garden, he knew there was none but English- the Palmated was introduced about '65 years ago - & soon after mules abounded – so that palmated has now nearly disappeared. But these mules in our garden show no trace of palmation!!?
