Maer. June 13 /42/ Ch 3.

Saw some fine seedling beds, raised by Edward of Greens Cabbages & several Var. of Broccoli some of these were in flower in diff parts of garden at same time = (but in one case there was only flower over wall) yet these seedlings indisputably varied & were mongrelised very much more, (so that I could tell, which were which) from some beds of London seedlings of other races of Cabbages. There was some variation in these latter = Edwards knows case of man who raises Swedish & Common turnips together only one yard apart. ?in flower together?? & they have for years come true. Edwards seedling Peas appear to have come true.
