Shrewsbury June 19th 1842. Saw large Humble-Bees go to X flowers of Lathyrus grandiflora always on left side, to which pistil bends (paper on this subject & on its sterility without aid in Gardeners Magazine Vol 8)

More than in other Peas intermediate structure with Phaseolus. Depressing wings with force cause pollen to protrude. Saw fly (21) go to this flower.
