April 10-18 1863 Lobelia fulgens -
front of column longitudinally furrowed & labellum do & pressed together leaving narrow channel to nectary - now each time column pushed a hair breadth backward, a ribbon-like stream of incoherent pollen pushed out - replacing irritability of filament in the Cynareæ.
