at these species being wanderers

Iceland no species to itself, a remarkable common to all northern isld. This is interesting, because Iceland must have been all ice in terms of ice transported. This gives room to give speculation. – Are there many northern genera peculiar to itself.

[B68v]

I cannot quite understand why ordering moraines might not have transported boulders – for he admits Rocks were moved in [orderly] manner (this is marvellous in sea of ice) on surface & that sea of ice returned in form of glacier –

Angularily rather far……….. to one view but I don't quite see [illeg] of Agassiz saying as surface Rocks are angular & are therefore remains of the lateral moraines.

[B69]

c…. subsequently removed; or not deposited, former more probable – I almost assume polishing & scratching of surfaces of the granites, then [illeg] & interior valleys only difficulty – There is phenomenon to be explained admitted by Agassiz, which [eroding] glacier will not explain – gravel or sand only [part] absolutely farmable & no new ferruginous only slow rise & submersion of Jura
