[C28]
At this great height
Where did water come from in old Water courses
How does he distinguish tides [way] from river-course
Muckul sides water-worn 30 ft up rocky islet in middle. - 21 ft deep 70 wide.
{Are the rocks in Glen Glastrig smooth westward all way up the valley of 212 ft - if so patent - are they scratched? or polished.
p. 10 Mr Darwin supposes water swept rapidly
p. 11 Barrier at Gap.
13. states that I consider Glen Roy filled up to level of shelf 4.!!! the buttresses prove the contrary.
p 15 Boulder formation - roads cross it.
19 facts make me believe Glaciers agency
do Multitude of blocks on level of shelf 4. near Loch Treig
p 20 number of lakes strange - terraces in stages
[C28v]
Lakes on soft shores fill up not eat into.
Loch Tulla 474 [+] 540 [=] 1014
if Bravais right not only absolute, but intermediate height wd be different, at different places. - measures rude.
Lakes successively drained.
p 24 sudden depressions quite unaccounted for in other cases.
p 24. {Haughs I do not doubt fr. S. America are marine.
Lake gradually drained is a great advantage in his theory
[C29]
Glen Gluoy given up.
aspect cannot explain precise causes.
[C29v]
Against ice Glen Gluoy terrace [different] height against my theory
Land strictly above level of roads
Buttresses at all levels - immense duration of lakes - boulders from a distance? water scooping at L. Treig // Kilfinnin Has I believe // Boulder clay - Phenomenon occurring elsewhere = Several other lakes? gradual drying away of terraces - generality of the phenomenon - Haugh not explained. I do not know whether glacier cd block up Glen Gluoy & Kilfinnin
I cannot conceive drawing so slow over ice & from [illeg] Tombril terraces, as to form butresses in former case & shelf in latter.
Lake not round path cut off rock
size of escapes from lakes
