I think it possible that in small islds as Madeira a chance arrival of Bird from crossing the Breed, its offspring might have some advantage over the orig genus.

The apparent frequency of [illeg] owing perhaps, to get N. & S line of migration or adjoining continent.

I have never met any one who doubted that there was close relation between geographical distribution & systemic affinity, if so how paradoxical that between nearest affinity of individuals of same species, then shd not be geographical juxtaposition
