Annals & M. of N. H. (3rd series. vol 13. 1864 p. 448 Mr W. T Blandford, in his description of the shells of Eastern Asia, remarks that in India in all classes we have a blending of African & Malayan forms; the former frequently occurring on the plains, the latter on the hills, the fauna of which often resembles the Malayan types of the Himalayahs.

p. 462 remarks on the relation of the land shells of Ceylon with those of the Mts. of S. India & thro' them with the Himalayahs & thus with Malay. He thus explains away
