Annals & Mag. of Nat. Hist. (3rd Series) Vol. 7. 1861. p. 231. Prof. Liljeborg states that in a deep lake in Sweden 400 to 500 fathoms Gammarus laricatus which is an Arctic Species has been found, so that this Crust: has changed from marine to fresh water & has been left as the Prof. suggests during the retreat of the glacial period. This lake Wettern lies in South Sweden parallel with N. Scotland.

C. Spence Bate confirms that this crust is strictly Arctic. Glacial
