Lastly I found from a review of the present work written by Prof Mantegazza in the Nuova Antologia, Firenze, Maggio 1868 p. 28 that he clearly foresaw some years ago the doctrine given in this chapter. He says, (referring to his Elements di igione 3d Ediz p. 546) "Io dicevo……."
