If the observations & views of Balbiani are confirmed & they are admitted by Claude Bernard (Revue Scientifique. Oct. 3. & 10th 1874) an ovule is a complex structure & previous to fertilisation arrives its full development the union of two cells, in much the same manner as it is afterwards fecundated by union with the male cells elem
