Aggregation

Primula Sinensis — placed in sol. of C. of A. 4 to 1000 Sept. 4 5th 4˚ 30' P.m examined on 6th at 10˚ 15' ie after 17 3/4 hr.— no trace aggregation, but here & there in the pallisade cells very oddly shaped green masses — sometimes pointed, motionless apparently confluent Chlor. grains, for in those few cells there were no true grains. Contents of heads of hairs aggregated—

In section of a leaf which had stood for same time in with stalk in water, chloro: grain very unequal in size & many very large— grain in lower cells of glandular hairs, but none in Heads of Hairs. —

(Sept 7th 9˚ a.m. reexamined part of same leaf left in the solution. No aggregation—th i but most of the pallisade cells appear to contain much green transparent matter besides the grains.)

(Sept 8th F. examined after 3 days immersion — no aggregation but flaccid, somewhat infiltrated— chlorophyll— grain smaller & injured.—
