Nov 8/72/ George think Weeping ch. not so well written as others – Galton alludes to blubbery children putting [insertion:] ? & rubbing eyes with knuckles –Do they do it whilst roaring, or when crying ceasing, as if to stop it – or are eyes irritated with salt-water.

E. Langton saw French guard when asked why Train was delayed, which had not or cd not explain shrugging his shoulders. lean his head forwards & straighten both arms, with widely opened hand, & extend them downwards behind his back = analogous of the 2d way of showing great astonishment.
