Dec 2d. Acalypha marginata, sol of 4 to 1000 for 21°. The roots turned brown & I believe there was aggregation (but too opake) in cells beneath epidermis, & there were the brown cheque cells, which probably existed before the A.

(Croton oblongifolium. 4 to 1000 for 21°. I got one good exterior section: no agg, but roots too opake

Manihot Glaziovi in 7 to 1000 18°— no agg & got good exterior section.

(Saxifraga umbrosa, 4 to 1000 for 19°, there were groups of exterior cells, sometimes 4 or 5 together in transverse line, & 2 or 3 in long. line, filled with brown granular matter — certainly true granulation.)

Oxalis corniculata 7 to 1000 for 18°— in white roots much white hyaline agg. matter in cells beneath epidermis — in browner roots no agg!

Dec. 3d. Looked at some more rootlets after 24° additional in the solution — could see no clear aggregation, but here & there a cell with brown or bluish-green aggregated granular matter. —
