Francis Darwin explained: "His researches into the meaning of the 'bloom,' or waxy coating found on many leaves, was one of those inquiries which remained unfinished at the time of his death. Aug 11 The cleaned seemed more riped as if they had absorbed water
― 18' 1 of the cleaned rotten at one end
— 29' both of cleaned more rotten than the one with bloom which was sound to tip.
